Helen Chappelle

 

Helen Chappelle started singing in her home town of Bristol before moving into starring roles in the West End theatre creating characters such as Jeannie in Hair, Portia in Fire Angel and Sylvia in Two Gentlemen of Verona.

 

She was a featured vocalist on The Butterfly Ball album and in the concert at the Royal Albert Hall and also sang The Lords Prayer in a special event in St Paul's Cathedral. Helen has also recorded an album of Michel Legrand songs and three songs from the show Isabel's A Jezabel, written and produced by Galt MacDermot.

 

As a recording artist Helen has worked with:  Elton John, Phil Collins, Bryan Ferry, Deep Purple, Elaine Paige, Sarah Brightman, and Michel Berger to name just a few. 

 

As part of the song writing team Chappelle, Smith and Taylor, Helen has co-written songs recorded by artists such as Randy Crawford, Vicki Brown and Kenny Thomas.

David Harwood Smith

 

David Harwood Smith studied at the Royal College of Music, London and has since been involved as a performer and writer for television, films and video and library music companies.

 

As a performer in theatre David has worked on productions including Godspell, Joseph and the Amazing Tehcnicolour Dreamcoat, Jack The Ripper, Let My People Come and the Chichester Festival

As a musician, he has worked with Everything But The Girl, Tom Robinson, Marc Bolan, Deep Purple, and Stewart Copeland.

 

As part of the songwriting team Chappelle/Smith&Taylor, David has co-written songs recorded by artists such as Randy Crawford, Vicki Brown and Kenny Thomas. David co-wrote, arranged and produced all the songs featured on Woolf - a portrait in song and Monroe the Musical.

Roger G. Taylor

 

Roger G Taylor studied at Cheltenham College of Art and after several years in fashion moved into the music industry as a backing singer and is a published author (Marilyn On Marilyn, Marilyn In Art volumes 1&2 and Elvis In Art.)

 

As a singer, Roger has provided backing vocals for live performances on Top Of The Pops and other popular music television shows, films and jingles and recorded the soundtrack for The Adventures Of Baron Maunchausen.

 

Roger has worked with Helen Chappelle and David Harwood Smith as a songwriter and performer and has had several successful covers, five of them with Vicki Brown over three albums, which have now received gold and platinum awards. Their song Life After Love was a successful entry in A Song For Europe and has recently won an award in Australia.

 

Roger is the co-writer, lyricist, arranger,  backing vocalist and producer of all the songs featured on Woolf - a portrait in song and Monroe the Musical.
