ABOUT THE PROJECT

 

The songs featured in this musical adaption are inspired by the life and times of screen star and sex symbol Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn sings about her own life but also featured are songs by her husbands, her agent, her drama coach, fellow actors, her guardian and Ella Fitzgerald. Uplifting and yet sometimes dark these songs reveal the truth behind the cliches and the empty catch-phrases. At no time is she just a dumb blonde sex symbol, these are the thoughts of a sensitive woman who cared about herself and the people around her.
